Yes. We integrate Control 4 smart home systems, and can pre-wire for motorized shades during new construction. You control them by app, remote, or schedule.

What's the difference between solar shades and blackout shades?

Solar shades block UV and glare while letting you see outside. Blackout shades block all light and view. In Utah, solar shades are popular on west-facing windows to protect furniture from our intense afternoon sun.

Do you measure and install, or just sell the product?

We handle everything. Custom measurement, design consultation, and professional installation. That's how we guarantee it fits perfectly and hangs flawlessly.

What warranty do you offer?

Manufacturer's Lifetime Limited Warranty on all window coverings. We stand behind our work.

Blackout Shade Options

Roller Shades

Blackout Roller Shades are the most common choice. They're clean-lined, compact when raised, and come in lots of colors. Single-mounted or double-mounted depending on whether you need maximum light-sealing. Best for modern and contemporary rooms.

Cellular Shades*

Blackout Cellular Shades combine insulation with light blocking. If your room needs both thermal control and darkness, blackout cellular is the answer. Common in master bedrooms in Utah homes where you want the room temperature-controlled and dark.

Curtains or Drapes

Blackout Curtains/Drapes add softness and design alongside light blocking. If you want the room to feel warm and finished, not just dark, blackout drapes layered over a sheer curtain creates elegance and function.

Motorized Shades

Motorized Blackout Shades let you set a schedule. Bedroom shade closes 15 minutes before bedtime, opens with your alarm. Nurseries benefit from this: consistent darkness helps with sleep training. The routine is automated.

Complete Darkness Changes Everything

Blackout shades block 100% of light. That means the room stays completely dark whether it's noon or 11pm outside. Not "mostly dark." Not "pretty dark." Actually, completely dark.

In Salt Lake City, summer sunrise hits before 6:00 am and June evenings keep daylight in bedrooms past 9:00 pm. Standard shades do not keep those rooms dark enough for a full nights rest, a baby's nap, or a shift worker trying to sleep at off hours. Blackout shades do.

The difference between room-darkening and true blackout is subtle but real. Room-darkening blocks most light and gives you a dim room. True blackout leaves no glow around edges, no light seepage. Truly pitch black.
